The Blackall Range Care Group Inc. is a community organisation, funded
by the Home and Community Care Program (HACC), and the communities
of the Range and surrounding areas to provide Care for the frail aged
and younger disabled residents and their carers by offering support
to maintain their quality of life within their community environment.
The Blackall Range Care Group is able to provide a flexible range
of services that can be tailored to meet the needs of our frail
aged and younger people with disabilities. Referrals can be made
by doctors, hospitals, family and community members and other health
providers. Each referral is followed up with a phone contact to
the client or their carer seeking permission to carry out an assessment
to ascertain their eligibility and need for the services we provide…
Centre Day Respite: Respite and social interaction
provided at the Cottage Monday to Friday, including outings to places
of local interest, music, story-telling, arts and crafts and gardening.
Nursing: Provision of holistic nursing care for
clients in their own homes.
Social Support: Home visits or one-on-one support
to access the community.
Personal Care: Assistance in the home with daily
self-care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming etc.
Meals: Centre based & home delivered.
In Home Respite: Stay with client in the home
to allow carer time away.
Transport: Transport to and from cottage for Day
Respite, to and from medical and other appointments.
Domestic Assistance: Vacuuming, cleaning of bathrooms,
etc.
Home Maintenance: Lawn-mowing and other minor
home maintenance.
Allied Health: Our funding enables us to subsidise
private Allied Health (podiatry, physiotherapy, speech therapy,
psychology) appointments. A podiatrist visits the Centre monthly.
Loan of Equipment: Short-term loans of assistive
equipment such as wheel-chairs, shower chairs, etc.
Shopping: Weekly shopping trips go to Nambour
and Maleny each Friday.
Laundry: Laundry is collected, taken to cottage,
washed and returned, if clients are unable to do it at home.
Counselling/Support/Information or Advocacy: Assistance
and advice regarding issues associated with health and remaining
at home safely.
Referral: to services that can not be supplied
by the Blackall Range Care Group
