The Blackall Range
Care Group.
The Blackall Range Care Group is an incorporated community-based organisation.
Its role is to assist frail older people, people with disabilities
and their carers, who are residents of the Blackall Range. This covers
the townships of Maleny, Montville, Flaxton, Mapleton and surrounding
districts.
The Blackall Range Care Group is mostly funded by the HACC (Home
& Community Care Program) which is a cost shared program between
the Commonwealth and State Governments. Through the program, financial
assistance is provided for services which enable people to remain
in their own homes, rather than residential care and to maintain
quality of life. Other funding comes from within the Community and
by application for grants for one off capital items.
Because of the beauty and peace of the area, it is the target of
many to retire to the Range, and the proportion of population now
becoming aged is one of the highest in Queensland. Blackall Range
Care Group provides a very comprehensive range of services at low
cost to the consumer and with the care and dedication of skilled
staff.
A simple phone call from yourself, a friend or a relative, or referral
from your doctor will be responded to with a visit from one of our
staff. This would be arranged at a time to suit you. On the first
visit staff will undertake a simple assessment to determine your
eligibility and discuss your needs with you so that a care plan
can be developed. A flexible range of services can be tailored to
meet your individual needs.
